Wheel of Donation

Maybe Ms. Day is planning too far in advance, but she's already dreaming about what will fill her Thanksgiving plate. She can almost taste the mound of stuffing and the green-bean casserole. And while these are nice dreams and lovely dishes to fill out her reveries, she knows that there are people out there, just like her, who aren't worried about the gluttonous holiday at all — because they don't even know from where they might get their next meal. Day will be ready to pedal for folks like these at Cranksgiving, a bike ride/food drive beginning at noon and departing from the Atomic Cowboy (4140 Manchester Avenue). To fully participate in this event, each cyclist will stop at various grocery stores along the route and pick up about $10 to $20 worth of nonperishable food items to donate to Food Outreach. Riders can choose between 10- and 25-mile routes, depending on their stamina. To learn more about the benefit, visit www.willcycleforcharity.com. or call call 314-664-0828.
