When There's Entertainment

There's hope

Usually when someone buys a ticket for a play, the money is used to help offset the theater company's expenses in putting on said production — not that there's anything wrong with that. But when people go to the Bravo Theatre Group's performance of 42nd Street at the CBC High School Gundaker Theater (1850 De La Salle Drive, Town & Country), their ticket purchases will provide more than just financial assistance for the theater company and entertainment for themselves. Sure, the audience members will love the classic show-within-a-show set during the Depression in New York City, they'll absolutely adore the songs (who doesn't like "We're in the Money"?), and they'll enjoy seeing the smaller-town girl make good on her Broadway dreams. But you know who else will be singing "We're in the Money"? The Gateway Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, since all proceeds from the show benefit the cause. Tickets for 42nd Street cost $12 to $15 and can be purchased through MetroTix (314-534-1111 or www.metrotix.com), and performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday (July 28 through 30). *Please note this performance has been rescheduled due to the power outage. The above piece reflects the correct information.
