Winter Nights Can Be All Right, Too

Raise your hand if you've seen Grease, the John Travolta-Olivia Newton-John flick, about a jillion times. (Of course you have, and you've seen Dirty Dancing almost as many times. Don't be ashamed — hold those hands up as high as Danny at the end of "Summer Nights" and own your movie-watching tendencies.) With Grease — as with the other aforementioned flick — you know most of the movie and the songs by heart and, frankly, you wouldn't mind seeing the whole thing spiced up a bit. Right? You know, to keep things interesting. Well, the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard) might have just the thing. The theater hosts the touring production of Grease from Tuesday, January 12, through Sunday, January 24, and this version features all of your favorite songs, '50s themes and good-girl-bad-boy dynamics, but it also stars American Idol s Taylor Hicks as Teen Angel! And with him comes his harmonica! How's that for spicy? Tickets to this production cost $24 to $66 (at 314-534-1111 or www.fabulousfox.com), and performance times vary (there are no shows on Monday).
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Jan. 12. Continues through Jan. 24, 2010
