Wonder as You Wander

Laumeier's woods hold surprises

May 14, 2008 at 4:00 am
The wooded area of Laumeier Sculpture Park (12580 Rott Road, Sunset Hills; 314-567-5384 or www.newmusiccircle.org) is a mysterious and rewarding place to walk, studded as it is with artwork ranging from Johann Feilacher's towering Redwood 1 to Mary Miss' sprawling Pool Complex: Orchard Valley. This evening at 5 p.m., those woods also harbor drummers, dancers, tai chi players and other wonders, as the New Music Circle presents its final production of the season, Spring into June. When you're done wandering through the trees, make your way over to the covered patio for the NMC fundraiser "Money is like Manure" at 7 p.m., where you'll enjoy nine courses of appetizers and stimulating conversation. Admission to Spring into June is free; admission to the fundraiser is a sliding scale based on the powers of five (e.g., if you want to pay five to the third power, that's $125).
