You Can't Spell "Capra" Without "Crap"

George Bailey's got all kinds of problems this Christmas. Money problems, confidence problems, and worst of all, he's got a fussbudget angel named Clarence impeding his attempt to step off a very high bridge, thereby solving almost all of his problems. Clarence helps George learn the error of his ways -- no, it doesn't involve better money-management skills -- as the fledgling angel shows George what life would have been like if he'd never been born. Come endure the Christmas tradition in a new format, as Magic Smoking Monkey Theatre presents The One-Hour It's A Wonderful Life. It's a shorter, sharper take on the the schmaltziest pile of schmaltz that ever schmaltzed, and it can't be any worse for your health than egg nog. Performances are at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (December 2 through 10) at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Performing Arts on Lindenwood University's campus (2300 West Clay Street; 314-361-5664 or Tickets are $10 to $15.
Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Dec. 2. Continues through Dec. 10, 2011
