Home on the Range

There are millionaires who buy a fleet of yachts, and then there’s Sophie Rain, who bought cows. The newly turned 21-year-old OnlyFans superstar has made roughly $82 million off the adults-only platform but has ditched the luxury influencer mansion in favor of a pastoral paradise. Rain has purchased a farm, and honestly, she looks really happy wearing work boots instead of stripper heels.

Sophie Rain has only been on OnlyFans since July of 2023, but she rapidly became one of the platform’s top-earning creators, building a loyal fanbase that shows up for her with credit card digits at the ready. She’s known for her bubbly personality, her gamer-girl-next-door aesthetic, and—most curiously—the fact that despite being a successful model on a site known for explicit content, she’s still a virgin. In less than two years, she’s crossed the $80 million threshold, making her a self-made multimillionaire before her 21st birthday.

While most people might choose to flash that kind of cash on luxury cars and a glam lifestyle, Rain has essentially done the opposite. Her first priority was retiring her parents and making sure that they could relax after a lifetime of hustling hard and raising their family on food stamps. She invested in the Bop House property—the infamous Miami influencer mansion—so that she and other young creators could have a content creation hub that they fully controlled. She’s also got a philanthropic side that she’s been leaning into lately. She donated $1 million to MrBeast’s TeamWater endeavor via livestream, causing the YouTube superstar to visibly fumble on camera from sheer shock at the sum of money donated. She also donated all of her earnings from her OnlyFans page on her 21st birthday to charity in an endeavor she called “Gooning for Good.” She’s been referred to as the most generous OnlyFans creator, being compared to MrBeast, but in lingerie.

Now that she’s got disposable income, Sophie Rain isn’t buying up luxury cars like trading cards. She’s bought a 20-acre farm near Tampa, Florida, that’s valued at roughly $3.4 million. Rain refers to her farm as her “sanity sanctuary.” She lives and works there part-time, viewing her farm as an escape from the chaos of the influencer world. Her farm includes rescue cows Milkshake and Pancake, baby goats Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (who were birthday gifts, because apparently baby goats are what you buy the girl who can buy herself anything), chickens, koi fish in the pond, and several small rescue animals. When on the farm, Rain spends her days bottle-feeding the baby goats, collecting eggs, and sharing the occasional muddy selfie instead of glam mansion photos. Where most influencers are sharing bikini pics taken atop Ferraris, Rain is sharing pictures live from the chicken coop, bird poop and all.

Where many might choose yoga and spa days as a means of maintaining their mental health and avoiding industry burnout, Rain prefers getting dirty with the animals. She says that working her farm keeps her grounded and “sane” in an industry that’s full of filters, fake friends, and a metric ton of pressure to perform. She’s been candid about how the simplicity of caring for her animals and being in nature beats back the stress that comes from maintaining her public persona. For Rain, farming gives her something that feels “real” to come home to after showing up online for the subscribers who continue to financially support her platform. Per Rain, “I love my career, but the farm is where I feel like myself — it’s honest work, and the animals don’t care how many followers I have.”

Sophie Rain’s been rewriting the script on influencer culture with the way she’s gone about building her platform, and now she’s changing what it means to live an “influencer lifestyle.” She’s turned from glamour to groundedness, and I’m here for it. She may have made her millions by showing some skin, but she’s found her peace by shoveling manure. Apparently, sometimes enlightenment comes with a small side of baby goat poop.
