Cedric the Keggler

If you don't think the second annual Cedric's Celebrity Bowling Benefit is a big deal, the Missouri House of Representatives respectfully disagrees. In 2004, the august legislative body passed a resolution recognizing both Cedric the Entertainer's philanthropic efforts in the state and his comedic achievements. So it's official. (The resolution specifically mentions his Bud Light ads and his roles on The Steve Harvey Show and Johnson Family Vacation, instead of, say, Barbershop. But hey, it's a legal document, not dramatic criticism.) This year's benefit for Cedric's scholarship fund starts at 5 p.m. at the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame (111 Stadium Plaza; 800-749-2346 or www.cedricfoundation.org) and includes a team bowling competition, a pool tournament, live music, a silent auction and, of course, Cedric himself. The Cedric Celebrity Afterparty runs from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at Dolce Bistro (200 North Broadway). Tickets for the benefit are $75, and the afterparty has a $10 cover charge.
