Comedian Ben Elton made a name for himself as a liberal political satirist by writing for British cult TV series like The Young Ones and Blackadder. In recent years he's reinvented himself as a playwright, thanks to a very lucrative collaboration with Brian May and Roger Taylor of the rock band Queen. The protagonists of the the smash-hit musical We Will Rock You live in a corporation-controlled future where everyone thinks and dresses alike, personal expression is forbidden and rock music is all but forgotten. Fortunately, a group of rebel bohemians wage a war to bring the power of rock back to the people, thanks to an armload of hits from the Queen songbook. We Will Rock You blows into the Fox Theatre (527 North Grand Boulevard; 314-534-1111 or www.fabulousfox.com) this week. Performances take place Tuesday through Sunday (March 18 through 30), and tickets are $25 to $90.
