Cabana on the Loop (6100 Delmar Boulevard; 314-875-0532) celebrated a grand opening on October 11, serving up a family friendly menu featuring Southern cuisine, breakfast dishes and traditional American-style offerings. The dine-in concept comes from husband-and-wife duo Wendell Bryant and Latoshia Morrow along with chef Nikki Griffin, formerly of the Rib Shack and SoHo.

"We were needing to take a vacation for a long time and were ready to start another business, so we came up with the idea of trying to bring the vacation here," says Bryant, with a laugh. "Our environment is really calm, cool, collected and relaxed."

In keeping with its wholesome theme, Cabana on the Loop stocks a supply of more than twenty different cereals behind the bar. Visitors can choose from these simple breakfast treats or a number of other to-order options. Entrees include catfish grits and eggs, a breakfast burger and a hot skillet, while some options on the sweeter side include a variety of loaded French toast, pancake or waffle plates topped with flavorful dessert sauces and fruit.
