FoodWire: Genghis Grill Invades Ellisville Thursday

Mar 2, 2009 at 5:44 pm
The Dallas-based chain Genghis Grill is opening its first St. Louis-area location this Thursday, March 5, at 15819 Fountain Plaza Drive. It's a Mongolian barbecue joint, which means -- well, let's just let the company's own Web site describe the fun:
Guests at Genghis Grill build their own bowls by choosing their own meats, spices, vegetables and sauces from Khan's Kitchen (a food bar featuring an array of ingredients), and then march over to a massive hot circular grill- Genghis Grill! There, the GRILL MASTERS (cooks) stir up the food with long wooden sticks, churning and turning the ingredients until they're cooked to perfection. Guests enjoy the scene as their food is being prepared and if they are lucky, the grill masters will perform nifty tricks to entertain the guests.
If you visit between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday, your food and drink will be free. That's right, free. Though the restaurant does request that you make a donation to the St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness Foundation.

Genghis Grill will be open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sun.-Thu. and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Fri.-Sat. Call 636.527.2714 for more information.
