Surely Les Claypool of Primus has had dreams about jumping into the chocolate river seen in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Or finding the golden ticket. Or getting a golden egg-laying goose nooooow, Daddy.
Claypool's obsession with Willy Wonka is on display in Primus & the Chocolate Factory, the group's newest and eighth studio album that reworks the film's songs, and was the foundation for an imaginative stage show November 5 at Peabody Opera House. With psychedelic lighting, Wonka-esque costumes and candy as far as the eye could see, Primus' production was "pure imagination."
