The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office yesterday charged 27-year-old Byron Johnson with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm for the murder in broad daylight Saturday of Bryon White.

White, 34, was arguing with a man around 4:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Sullivan near Fairground Park when he was shot multiple times. Police believe Johnson was the gunman who fled the scene. The Post-Dispatch reports that Johnson and White were cousins and that Johnson has a criminal record for drug trafficking and domestic assault and was out on probation when he allegedly killed his relative.

Johnson, of the 6000 block of Schulte, is being held without bond.
