Wow. Rough week for alleged felons in St. Louis.

This morning 19-year-old Dwight A. Brown became the third person in less than a week to lose his life when allegedly conducting a crime in St. Louis. In the two previous deaths, residents say they confronted burglars inside their homes and shot the suspects.

In this morning's incident, witnesses tell police that Brown was robbing a person at gunpoint around 2:25 a.m. in the 2700 block of Fall Avenue (above) of north St. Louis when a 27-year-old man jumped into action.

Police say the man wrestled the gun from Brown and then shot him multiple times. Brown, of the 2900 block of Cool Papa Bell, was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

An investigation is ongoing, though police say witnesses nearby corroborate the victim's description of the incident.
