It's true, St. Louis: Tim Ezell is leaving the news business -- for God.
Ezell, the human dose of amphetamine that hosts FOX 2's "AM Show", is hanging up his news anchoring spurs after sixteen years to become a full-time pastor at the The Journey church in south county. He reportedly met with his KTVI bosses Monday -- presumably while hula hooping -- to let them know he wouldn't be renewing his contract. Ezell's last show will be July 18.
It's the end of an era for FOX 2, and 9 a.m. is going to be a much duller hour without Ezell's explosive engery. We're not ready to say goodbye to the goofy gonzo journalist, so we've cobbled together a handful of our favorite (read: ridiculous) Ezell moments.

1. The time Tim Ezell rapped about having a tiny a butt.
Untold millions of Americans suffer from a booty inferiority complex, but Ezell sure as hell worked out his demons in this bonkers parody of "Apple Bottom Jeans." Our favorite part? Ezell (or DJ Nugget) pulling bags of cheese, chips and salsa from the cavernous backside of his "No Bottom Jeans."
2. The time Tim Ezell was rejected as the fifth member of The Wiggles.
For a seemingly wholesome guy, Ezell seems right at home playing Malachai, the disaffected fifth member of the whimsical children's show The Wiggles. All he needs is a trough of of cocaine and a limo full of hookers, and this becomes the greatest VH1 "Behind the Music" episode ever made.
3. The time Tim Ezell took the polar plunge.
Sure, it's a chance to glimpse the slender majesty of Ezell's shirtless bod, but the best part comes at the end, post polar plunge, when a shivering Ezell completely loses volume control -- and possibly his mind. (FOX2's embed code doesn't seem to be working, but you can watch video here.)
