Here's what's hard to understand: For those who take baths, you may absent-mindedly forget to turn the water off every once in a while. If you cook on a stove top, maybe you sometimes to forget to turn off a burner. But if you've ever decided in a stroke of sheer brilliance to buy a 12-foot swimming pool from Walmart, sneak it into your high school in the middle of the night and fill it with water -- while in the meantime making the effort to douse the floor with cooking oil -- we're guessing you remembered to turn off the nozzle afterward.
Not so the three pranksters at Troy Buchanan High School in Lincoln County, who on May 6, decided to throw a little three-person pool party inside the cafeteria as a gag. But after neglecting to turn off the water, the ensuing damage cost the school $15,000. The bumbling burglars now face criminal charges.
Kyle Hussey and Robin Wilson, both eighteen, and 17-year-old Joshua Wilcockson have been charged with second-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. Each faces a maximum seven years in prison and $5,000 fine.
The defendants were jailed on $20,000 bonds. But parents say the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Following is a clip from Fox2.
