It's not easy being Santa. You have to run a sweatshop staffed by elves who are always complaining about workers' rights or whatever, you live in an inhospitable climate that you only get to leave a few weeks out of the year to go hang out in malls with spoiled kids, and Stand Your Ground laws make it really dangerous to slide down chimneys.
That's why it's no surprise that comedy sketches involving Santa Clause usually depict him as either a tired drunk, sexually repressed pervert, or a a kid-beating mall Santa who's tired of this crap.
So, as a Christmas treat, here are four of the best "adult" Santa Claus sketches on the web:
The Richard Pryor Show - A Santa Claus Rebuttal
In Pryor's short-lived The Richard Pryor Show, the comedy legend played a tired Santa Claus who is fed-up with something most people can agree on: Christmas begins way too soon every year (and he was saying this in 1977).
Whitest Kids You Know - Glory Chimney Santa
In this sketch, Santa wants more than milk and cookies. He gets it.
In Living Color - A Homie the Clown Christmas
Damon Wayans' famous Homie the Clown character takes on the role of a mall Santa and teaches the kids the true meaning of Christmas: stop wanting ridiculous stuff and stop being a sucker for The Man.
Saturday Night Live - Santa's My Boyfriend
He knows when you've been sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows when you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.
If that kinda thing turns you on, maybe Santa would be a good boyfriend.
