A Central West End man stands accused of the three felony charges of recklessly exposing a sex partner to HIV. According to a probable cause statement issued yesterday, 26-year-old Patrick Wayne Gregory had sexual relations with two women without notifying them that he carried the AIDS virus.

The indictment suggests that for a five-month stretch last year, Gregory carried on both relationships simultaneously. He then continued a sexual relationship with one of the victims through May of this year, having sex with the woman at a residence in the Central West End and another in south city, leading to two separate charges.

All three charges read that Gregory "knowing at that time that he was infected with HIV, recklessly exposed (the victims) to HIV infection without that person's knowledge and consent by contact with blood, semen or vaginal secretions in the course of vaginal sexual intercourse."

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office says that Gregory, of the 4400 block of Pershing, faces similar charges in Madison County, Illinois. It's unclear if those charges involve the same women or other victims.
