St. Louis Carjacking: Man Shot Woman In Her Vehicle, Pulled Her Out, Drove Off, Cops Say

St. Louis police say that an unknown man in a dark skull cap shot at a woman sitting in her car last night and then stole her vehicle.

The shooting and robbery happened at the corner of Howard Street and North 20th Street in the St. Louis Place neighborhood.

The victim, 24, was sitting in her car when the man, wearing a black and red shirt, approached her and opened her driver's side door, police say. Then, he reportedly showed his firearm to her -- and began shooting.

Police say she was shot in the foot and leg -- at which point the man pulled her out of the car.

He drove away, east on Howard Street.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is in serious, but stable condition.

The incident happened at about 3:40 a.m. this morning. Police don't yet have a suspect in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

He opened her driver's side door, displayed a firearm and fired shots, striking the victim in the leg and foot. He then pulled the victim out of the vehicle. The suspect then entered the vehicle and drove east on Howard. The victim was conveyed to a local hospital and is listed in serious/stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
