Will Pujols' Bat Come Alive Now That Sugary, Sweet 60 Minutes Profile is Over?

In case you missed it, here's the segment on Albert Pujols that appeared last night on 60 Minutes. The TV newsmag painted a pretty flattering portrait of Pujols, talking mostly about his charitable work for kids with Down Syndrome and the poor in the Dominican Republic than his prowess on the field.

And while 60 Minutes accurately described St. Louis' love affair with "El Hombre" ("Albert is much a part of St. Louis as the Arch") it glossed over fan frustration with Pujols this year over his failure to re-sign with the team in the offseason. The feature, which routinely referred to him as the best player in baseball, also didn't get into Pujols' unusually slow start this season -- batting .143 through nine games.
