Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending April 8, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books, Subterranean Books and Sue's News.
Friends, it's finally here: that book that provides a searing look into the collective unconscious, revealing, without shame, some of our most improbable, even transgressive, fantasies in painstaking, play-by-play detail. We refer, of course, to Wild Cards: The St. Louis Cardinals' Stunning 2011 Championship Season by Rob Rains.
OK, no, we were really referring to Fifty Shades of Grey, E.L. James' erotic international bestseller, which is finally out in paperback and number one on the bestseller list. Now non e-book readers, or those who don't give a shit that everybody knows they're reading so-called "lady porn" can experience the literary sensation of our time. And guess what? The second and third books in the trilogy, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Free, are out tomorrow
