Giving Is In Style

The seasons are about to change -- it'll happen, we swear -- and now's the time to prepare, if for no other reason than it will be really uncomfortable in December when you're walking around in your summer gear while wrapped in a winter coat. Wise up to what's in style and open your mind and eyes at the South Broadway Art Project's Fashion Show & Art Event. At this affair, local boutiques and designers send their best down the runway, all for the benefit of this south city art studio, which offers summer camps for kids, workshops for adults, public art projects and more. In addition to the runway show, there's an auction and some artsy happenings, eats, drinks (for donations) and all kinds of fun. The fundraiser, which is held at the Killeen Studio Architects space (3015 Salena Street), runs from 7 to 10 p.m., and tickets cost $20. Visit www.southbroadwayartproject.org to make a purchase. And if one fashionable event isn't enough for you, check out the free fashion-camp kids' show at 2 p.m.
