Con Artists and Heroes

This weekend, there is no safer place to be than St. Louis because the galaxy's mightiest heroes are all assembling for the Wizard World Comic Con this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 4 through 6) at America's Center (701 Convention Plaza). Even the haughtiest of super-villains would be forced to put all plans of world domination on hold for fear of facing the likes of Captain Kirk (William Shatner), the Incredible Hulk (Lou Ferrigno), Doctor Who (Matt Smith), Ash (Bruce Campbell) and the caped crusaders themselves -- Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward). And lest we forget, plenty of comic creators are scheduled to appear, including the legendary Neal Adams, who is responsible for defining runs on books such as X-Men, Batman and Green Arrow. In addition to the celebrities, the con features numerous booths selling pop-culture ephemera, posters, clothes and more. And of course, cosplayers are welcome. The convention is open from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $39 to $90, with more charged for autographs and VIP sessions with the stars. Children ten and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.
