Independence Ladies

Independence Day means having the freedom to be yourself and dance your ass off -- or at least that's how it's being interpreted at Lez Dance. Despite the wording in the Constitution, both men and women are created equal, and they shall celebrate accordingly at this dance party that starts at 9 p.m. tonight at 2720 Cherokee Street (314-276-2700 or www.2720cherokee.com). Hosts Jeez Loueez and Lola van Ella (in association with Kristen Goodman) encourage attendees to wear their sexiest red, white and blue garb and bust a move to the sounds of DJ Foxy, along with go-go dancers from Minneapolis and New Orleans. The event is geared toward a lesbian-friendly crowd but open to all, along with drink specials and more fun as the night goes on. There's a $5 cover at the door. Who needs fireworks when you can create your own sparks on the dance floor?
