The Dogtown Parade: It doesn't get any more fun than this.
In St. Louis, we don't just have St. Patrick's Day — we have St. Patrick's Days plural, with celebrations both this Saturday, March 12, and Thursday, March 17. Most of the Saturday festivities are downtown, and most of the Thursday ones are in Dogtown, but it's never quite that simple. And there are also parties worth noting in Alton and a special dinner in Grafton.

St. Patrick's Weekend (Saturday, March 12)
47th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade and 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Run: The 47th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in St. Louis and the 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade Run will take place Saturday, March 12. The parade steps off at noon from 20th and Market and proceeds south. The run starts at 9 a.m. on Broadway at the Ballpark Village. Sat., March 12, 12-2 p.m., Free, 314-241-PATS, www.irishparade.org. Alton St. Patrick’s Day Festival: Parts of State Street, Third Street and Belle Street in downtown Alton close to traffic for a pedestrian-friendly pub crawl. Most downtown bars participate with food and drink specials, as do Hopps House at the Argosy Casino and Johnson’s Corner. A shuttle is available. Sat., March 12, 12-6 p.m., free admission. The Irish food specials at Hopps House (One Piasa Street, Alton; 618-474-7500) continue through March 17.
Not Even Slightly Irish St. Paddy’s Party: Big Daddy’s parties all weekend with live entertainment Friday night and after the parade Saturday, with all the green beer you can drink and great Irish-inspired food specials and cocktails. Paddy Hard: Start parade day with pancakes from 7-11 a.m. or a full Irish breakfast being served all day long. Tiger Irish Pub's heated tent opens at 7 a.m. and hosts live music by DJ Jud Mehler, Two Chixx and Spontaneous from 11 a.m. until close. Sat., March 12, 7 a.m., $5 cover. Shamrock Block Party: Molly’s in Soulard and 1860’s Hardshell celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with live music, Irish food and a Jameson whiskey tasting in the parking lot. Sat., March 12, 1-7 p.m. Molly’s in Soulard, 816 Geyer Ave., St. Louis, 314-241-6200.
Snake Day: Ballpark Village’s Snake Day party includes draft beer, house wine and premium rail liquor (shots and Red Bull are excluded) at Budweiser Brew House, Cardinals Nation, Fox Sports Midwest Live, Howl at the Moon and PBR St. Louis from 8 to 11 p.m. Food specials are extra. Irish Wine Pairing Dinner: Pere Marquette Lodge hosts a four-course gourmet wine pairing dinner of St. Patrick’s Day. The dinner is $50 per person and includes taxes and gratuity. St. Patrick's Day (Thursday, March 17)
Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade: The 2016 Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Tamm and Oakland avenues. Following the parade, Dogtown’s many restaurants and taverns open their doors to celebrate with drink specials. No coolers are allowed at the parade. Pat Connolly Tavern St. Pat’s Party: The bar opens at 6 a.m. with $5 breakfast plates. The Dogtown parade starts at 12:30 right in front of Pat’s, and the bar will be open inside until 1 a.m. for the Guinness Second Wind Party. Live Irish music from 6 to 10 p.m. Thu., March 17.
