Out in Front

From Tuesday, March 18, through Sunday, March 30, Maps Contemporary Art Space takes over the Front Room of the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis to present a series of three exhibits, each running for four days. Kicking off these exhibitions is Katherine Cannistra (working under the guise of Cathy Cooper), who invites you into her personal fortress of solitude: a vast media-center headquarters for her superhero Glitterous and arch-villain Nimbus. The show promises surreal heroics and interactive activities, such as a three-dimensional rain cloud that allows visitors to make their mark on water-sensitive paper. So throw on your cape, strap on your repulsor rays, and assemble at 3750 Washington Boulevard between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday (March 18 through 21). For more information about the two other exhibits happening during Maps' Front Room run, visit www.contemporarystl.org or dial up the museum on your video wristwatch at 314-535-4660; regular museum admission applies.
