Imagine 5,000 years of legend, art and culture packed into one spectacular evening. This is what you'll enjoy at every Shen Yun Performing Arts show. The company showcases a spectrum of classical Chinese dance combined with colorful costumes and inspirational messages to create a total artistic experience that will captivate your senses and lift your spirits. A live orchestra incorporating both Eastern and Western instruments accompanies the dancers and vocalists, performing original compositions and unique arrangements of classical pieces. The J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts on the Lindenwood University campus (2300 West Clay Street; 636-949-4433 or www.lindenwood.edu) welcomes Shen Yun Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday (February 11 through 13). Tickets cost $30 to $120.
