Growlers Pub (3811 Lindbergh Boulevard, 314-984-9009) in Sunset Hills has closed. The South County favorite shut its doors in mid-June after eighteen years. "The timing is right to close now. The pub's lease is up, and coupled with the poor economy, it was just best to close the doors," owner Carl Bolm said in a press release at the time, as first reported by Feast in June.

The patio always seemed packed to us, and with 133 beers and 33 on tap, it's too bad Growlers couldn't stay open. The Creve Coeur location closed in 2010. The pub's sign now reads, "Thank you for your business. See you soon." Thanks to Jim Zavist for the tip.

"We would like to thank our customers and staff for 18 great years in Sunset Hills," Bolm said. "We loved every minute of it."
