Opinionated About Dining strikes again.

In March, the restaurant website's annual survey, which draws from 70,000 reviews by 3,000 users, ranked Niche (1831 Sidney Street; 314-773-7755) one of the nation's top 100 restaurants. In April, it released the survey results by region, and six St. Louis restaurants made the list of the top 25 restaurants in the Midwest.

Now Opinionated About Dining has released the results of two new surveys, the "Top 100 Artisanal Cheap Eats" and the "Top 100 Cheap Eats."

St. Louis restaurants have placed in both categories.

In the "Artisanal Cheap Eats" category, Midtown Neapolitan-pizza restaurant The Good Pie (3137 Olive Street; 314-283-9391) takes the #64 spot. The famed Chicago hot dog spot Hot Doug's is #1 in this category, followed by Stumptown Roasters in Portland, Oregon, and Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles.

In the "Cheap Eats" survey, St. Louis just misses cracking the top ten. Crown Candy Kitchen (1401 St. Louis Avenue; 314-621-9650) is the #11 restaurant, with the #13 spot going to Pappy's Smokehouse (3106 Olive Street; 314-535-4340) and the #16 spot to Ted Drewes Frozen Custard (6726 Chippewa Street; 314-481-2652).

There's more: Pho Grand (3195 South Grand Boulevard; 314-664-7435) is the #24 restaurant on the "Cheap Eats" list. And while Opinionated About Dining is, let's say, generous in describing 17th Street Bar & Grill (1711 West Highway 50, O'Fallon, Illinois; 618-622-1717) as a "St. Louis" restaurant -- especially since the original location is all the way in Murphysboro, Illinois -- we'll happily claim the #43 restaurant as our own.

The #1 "Cheap Eats" restaurant is Kreuz Market in Lockhard, Texas. The indescribably awesome barbecue joint Oklahoma Joe's, on the Kansas side of Kansas City, is #4.
