October was a crazy month in St. Louis. While the activity in the restaurant scene paled in comparison to what happened at Busch Stadium, this was still one of the busiest stretches of restaurant openings that I've experienced over the past few years.

Notable openings included Baileys' Range, the new burger joint from restaurateur Dave Bailey, and the Crow's Nest, a spinoff of the popular south city pub the Bleeding Deacon Public House. October also saw the return, in a new location, of St. Louis institution Dooley's Ltd., now known as Dooley's Beef n Brew Haus.

Closings were fewer, but included one new restaurant, Crostini Restaurant & Lounge, and one still relatively new, Adobe Reds.
