Stop by The Sweet Divine's new Soulard location this evening for some 1920s-style glitz, glamour and, of course, cupcakes!

The Sweet Divine (1801 South 9th Street; 636-942-2900) is hosting a Gatsby Happy Hour today from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in honor of the May 10 release of the new Baz Luhrmann film, The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Owner Jenna Siebert let us know that there will be two flavors of Gatsby-inspired cupcakes at the event, as well as lots of free movie merchandise to celebrate.

Warner Bros. Pictures marketing team contacted The Sweet Divine to ask if they wanted to be involved in a movie promotion event, and Jenna and her husband Jason jumped at the chance.

They've made special Champagne & Pearls and Razzle Dazzle cupcakes that will be sold together for $5 in honor of the film, which celebrates the decadence of the Roaring Twenties. With the purchase of the special Gatsby cupcake duo, you'll get free movie merchandise (no word yet on what that might be, but it's Gatsby we're talking about, so it ought to be fun). Guests will also be eligible to win tickets to see the new film in theaters. Ten pairs of tickets will be given out, so the chances of winning should be good!

Jenna also wants to encourage guests to come in their best Roaring Twenties attire for the chance to win some other great prizes. Again, we're not sure what these prizes are, but we think free cupcakes are a good bet.

So slip into your slinkiest flapper dress or pinstripe suit and fedora and go chow down on some of the best cupcakes in town. Cause really, isn't that what Gatsby would do?
