Thieves Strike Simply Fondue

Simply Fondue (1629 Locust Street) was struck by thieves early Monday morning. From a blog post on the restaurant's MySpace page:

On the morning of 2/4/08, someone decided that they really liked the 3 plasmas at Simply Fondue. They liked them so much that they threw a brick through one of our beautiful 7' x 9' plate glass windows and took them for themselves! In the process they damaged several bottles of wine, rum, bourbon and gin. What a shame.... Apparently they also liked the brackets that the TVs were hung on, because they ripped them down with the TVs.

Anyway, we were able to get it cleaned up and closed up in time to open tonight. Thanks to all of you who came in and helped us make the best of an unpleasant situation. Also, thanks to the carpenters who boarded up the window!

We thank God that it was only material things that were damaged/destroyed. At least our team and our guests were all gone at the time of the incident.
