Tidbits: Sultan Palace, Hong An Open; Chopstix Asian Kitchen Closed

- Last month Gut Check heard from readers -- and saw for ourselves -- that the relatively new Middle Eastern restaurant Sultan Palace Bakery and Cafe (4144 South Grand Boulevard; 314-875-9653) had closed. Calls to the restaurant led to a full voice mailbox.

Now we've heard from at least one reader that the restaurant has reopened (or, if you prefer, that its as-yet-unexplained hiatus has ended). Calls to the restaurant still lead to a full voice mailbox, however. Anyone dined there recently?

- Also on South Grand: We learned last month that a Vietnamese restaurant called Hong An Bun Bo Hue Restaurant would open soon at 3924 South Grand Boulevard, the former Arby's space that briefly housed another Vietnamese restaurant called Noodle House. The restaurant celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, April 25, according to the sign outside its front windows, though when Gut Check stopped by today we discovered that the restaurant is closed on Monday.

- Finally, a commenter on our list of April 2013 openings and closings alerted us to an April shuttering we missed: Chopstix Asian Kitchen (8021 West Florissant Avenue, Jennings). According to the restaurant's Facebook page, Chopstix's final day of business was Saturday, April 13.
