River City Pub

Located in a space that's housed a tavern for more than 60 years, the River City Pub is a well-oiled, well-worn, drink-slinging machine. This is a sanctuary for folks with a serious, no-frills thirst -- the only distractions are darts, a jukebox and Golden Tee. (Don't be confused by the sign outside; a pool table no longer exists.) Other than jars of beef jerky behind the bar, there's not even food. Visit on a Wednesday, Friday or Saturday night, however, and the beverages fuel a raucous crowd of karaoking fools led by Ali Baba himself. It's characters like Mr. Baba and the horse-race-loving bartender who reinforce the charm of this aged canteen. As evidenced by the many mirrors and neon signs along the walls and the uniform-clad family portrait, this establishment is seriously into the Cardinals, so expect to watch the game whenever it's on. The neon is about the only source of light inside, but during the summer, the small patio is open for more illuminated drinking.
