Bands: VLAA Will Answer Your Legal Questions for Free

Jun 21, 2012 at 7:08 am

Artists and musicians (and those generally interested) get out your yellow pads and start asking questions. The Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts would like to answer your legal questions for free. The VLAA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal, financial and business advice to artists in the Saint Louis community and surrounding areas.

Musicians will be happy to know they tackle concerns ranging from who owns your band's name to the down right nitty-gritty of copy writing (check out their page on music law). Aid for art students making transition between school and the business world is available through the program No Artist Left Behind.

VLAA even publishes its own how to guides on negotiating art space leases, managing cash and much more. All legal enquiries can be made through an application process on the VLAA website.
