Although MU330 has had a quiet 2006 so far, that's about to change: The local ska legends are heading to Alaska for a few gigs. According to drummer-vocalist Ted Moll, these shows came about after the band discovered that the Blue Meanies' manager, a long-time friend, now books concerts at the University of Fairbanks. Besides allowing MU330 to cross one more state off their visited list (they only need to play Delaware and North Dakota to have hit all 50), this Alaskan sojourn will give the band a chance to road-test some new material they're planning on recording, which Moll describes as their take on "garage monster rock albums from the '60s. It's definitely going to be MU330. [But it's] actually going to be a little more garage-surf."
