Former East Side Cop Admits to Fibbing to Feds About a Blowjob

Former East St. Louis cop Ramon T. Carpenter, age 40, admitted in federal court today that he lied to the FBI as they were investigating a claim, made by a female DUI suspect, that Carpenter let her go one night last May in exchange for some good ol' fashioned fellatio.

His guilty plea faces him with the prospect of up to 5 years' imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and not more than 3 years' supervised release.

It all started in the wee hours of May 8, 2012, according to the feds across the river. Carpenter and another officer stopped this woman -- let's not forget -- because she was breaking a rather impressive number of laws, all at once.
Not only was she drunk. She had an open container, no license, and no insurance.

Bad news bears.

So here's what the feds say happened next:
The female alleged that she was driven to a secluded area in Jones Park, in East St. Louis, where she felt that she had to perform oral sex on the officer to avoid going to jail.  The charges state that when Carpenter was interviewed by federal agents that he falselydenied being present in Jones Park during his shift and that he also falsely denied receiving oral sex.

Carpenter won't be sentenced until January 3, 2013.
