St. Louis police have identified the man found unconscious and bleeding inside his truck Sunday morning in the 5000 block of Davison (below) in north St. Louis.

Kenneth T. Jones: St. Louis Homicide No. 1, Shot Dead In Vehicle

Police arrived to the scene around 11 a.m. January 9 to discover Kenneth T. Jones, 43, with gunshots to the hip, bicep, chest, stomach and shoulder. Jones, of the 300 block of Gage in Dellwood, was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

St. Louis police yesterday didn't yet have an official body count for homicides thus far in the new year. That said, we believe Jones' killing is the second or third confirmed murder within city limits in 2011. We'll update this post when he know for sure.
