St. Louis Black Pride is expanding this year, with lots more events and visibility for the event celebrating black lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender folks. There are plenty of events and parties leading up to the event, scheduled for August 18 through 21, and the new president and board could use your help.

So go meet 'em! Friday night from 6 to 9 p.m., they're hosting a happy hour meet and greet at The Space, 3016 Locust Street. You can sign up to work on committees, get information about events in the works like a Father's Day Picnic and a movie night series, or just mix and mingle.

Audrey Pearson has taken over as board president, and several new board members have come on. "We have a different energy and mindset about it," she told Daily RFT a few weeks back."We can do things more cohesively."
