Men's Health Ranks St. Louis as #1 City for Car Accidents

As we reported last week, Missouri is on a record-setting pace for fatal automobile accidents in 2012, mainly because of Missourians disdain for the seatbelt. Men's Health magazine, in one of its many "Metrograde" listicles, has further pinpointed the problem: On the whole, St. Louisans are the most dangerous drivers in the nation.

Men's Health factored in a bunch of data for this study, such as the overall rate of fatal crashes, fatal crashes involving alcohol (Men's Health said we're the sixth-drunkest, by the way), deadly hit and runs, rate of seatbelt use and any laws controlling cell phone use while driving. The Men's Health staff then took a quick break to blast their quads with a heavy-weight work out and made this list of the 100 Most Dangerous Cities, Automobile Division.

As you can see, St. Louis came in at number 100 -- I know, for the most dangerous city list you'd think that would be great, but ... Men's Health, you know? -- with a solid F rating. So apparently, driving in the 314 is like competing in Death Race 2000 and then making the final tanker run in Road Warrior.

Of course, in crunching all that data (and crunching those abs, presumably), Men's Health failed to take into account a serious mitigating factor for our dismal showing: Our proximity to Illinois. Those assholes can't drive for shit.
