YOU'RE A RIOT, DEAN

Tusk, tusk: If everyone would just wear more ivory, the overpopulation of elephants in zoos could be solved in short order ["Isn't It Time the Saint Louis Zoo Rethinks Its Position on Elephants?" Chad Garrison].

HE'S A NOBODY

A waste of space: This guy is not a Democratic operative ["Local Democratic Operative Indicted for Weapon Charges, Mortgage Fraud," Chad Garrison]. He was a Democratic donor, but the guy could never write big checks. He was — and still is — a nobody. Please stop calling him an operative when he never was one. He's a wannabe and was virtually unknown in Democratic politics until you guys wrote about him.

DRUNK IN NEW MEXICO

Yep, sometimes that's all there is to do: New Mexico has one of the nation's highest rates of death from drinking and driving ["Carlsbad, New Mexico: No Longer a Bud Light Kind of Town," Chad Garrison]. In the last several years, they have taken an extremely proactive approach to prevention and punishment because it was happening with extreme regularity. Sometimes there isn't much to do in the desert.

HERE'S TO HATCHET JOBS!

Good going, guys: Go get 'em, RFT ["Mardi Gras Inc. Spokesman Decries Riverfront Times 'Hatchet Job,'" Tom Finkel]. He's just upset because you outed them — like Blagojevich.

Not much to add here: F them. Isn't this supposed to be "Mardi Gras?" What a bunch of ninnies.

Audit their butts: Because Mardi Gras Inc. is a nonprofit group, I think we need some transparency, like an audit for the last several years. Some of us would like to know if we all are being charged the same and why some groups are being included that are not part of "the Soulard area." How were they picked, and what strings were attached to get them approved?
Jula Krzysiek, via the Internet

Odd comparisons: The RFT is a pale shadow of the independent paper it once was. St. Louis Mardi Gras is a weak imitation of the New Orleans version. Surely a partnership made in...purgatory? Who cares?

LIGHTEN UP, MARDI GRAS INC.

Geez, you're ruining everything: This is not a wholesome family event and never has been ["Keep Your Shirt On or Mardi Gras Inc. Will Fine You," Nicholas Phillips]. This is an enjoyable adult party and the second largest Mardi Gras event in the United States. Let's not ruin it by over-policing controversial policies! Allow folks to kick back a few hurricanes and have a grand time, without having to worry about the Man busting our rocks!

KEEP IT PRIVATE

Ain't nobody's business: BlockShopper makes a lot of people mad. I get calls all the time from angry consumers wondering who gave out their private information ["BlockShopper.com Buckles Under Lawyer's 'Trademark' Lawsuit," Kristen Hinman]. As a realtor, I've been accused more than once! We know this home-sale information is public record, but it's fairly hard to find — and we like it that way!

Ass clowns: BlockShopper should have made a counteroffer on the settlement, specifying that they would willingly henceforth refer to Jones Day as "those ass clowns" in all links.
