St. Louis Veterans' Home Wins Makeover

Everybody who voted for St. Louis in HGTV's "Change The World Campaign" can give themselves a big pat on the back: The cable network announced today that our veterans' home was one of two in the U.S. to win an all-expenses-paid (and much needed) renovation.

The 104-year-old Windsor Transitional House, in midtown, will receive an energy overhaul with new windows, doors and insulation, plus upgrades to the kitchen and a brand-new back porch.

The HGTV crew will come to town later this year. Watch for a special show on the makeover in October 2009.
