'Extreme and Dangerous' Flash Flooding Pounds St. Louis [PHOTOS + VIDEO]

Historic rainfall overnight has led to disastrous road conditions across the St. Louis area this morning. More than 8.06 inches of rain fell at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, breaking the all-time daily rainfall record from 1915, which came after the Galveston Hurricane.

All that rain caused flooded basements, flash floods, closed streets and power outages from St. Charles all the way to the Mississippi River and beyond. Cars out on the streets were overtaken by rising water and even a news crew had to be rescued.

Here’s a roundup of what’s happening out there.
