5. Little Fox
(2800 Shenandoah Avenue, littlefoxstl.com)
“Little Fox is my favorite restaurant in St. Louis. If I want to spend the money on good food, I know I am never disappointed here. It's best to go with friends so you can order more and share plates. It's not really a place to go choose your own entree. Share! … The dishes are creative and delicious. Although there is only one dish that is not a favorite, it's still good and I have bites of it every time we order it because it's a crowd favorite. I've loved most everything we have gotten, and I've liked the rest.” - Denialle J. on Yelp

4. Anthonino’s Taverna
(2225 Macklind Avenue, anthoninos.com)
“My new favorite Italian ristorante in St. Louis! We had a group of six and had reservations. We got right in and seated at our table. To get things started besides drinks, we ordered the T-Rav's and cheesy garlic bread which were really tasty. I ordered the lasagna which came bubbling in a cast iron small casserole dish. Some of the best lasagna I've had in a while besides what I make personally! Kind of spicy too! The shrimp scampi was delicious and the meatballs tender and moist. Our server kept our drinks filled and things moving along and tempted us on dessert but we had to pass this time. The dining room is spacious and there is a bar area too. Parking is on the street like many other businesses on The Hill.” - Joe R. on Yelp

3. Olive + Oak
(216 West Lockwood Avenue, oliveandoak.oohosp.com)
“Had a fantastic time here. We stopped in for happy hour at the bar (4-6). The bartender, also our server, was fantastic. He was kind, informative and did a great job all around. The food was wonderful. The crunchies were chips and salsa (deliciously seasoned homemade tortilla chips and a great fresh tomato salsa). The bread option was incredible. The roasted fresh tomatoes with very tasty capers made for a delicious and complex topping. The bread itself was sooo good- bread dreams. It had clearly just come out of the oven. We were having such a nice time that we indulged in the Octopus starter. It was very rich and very tasty. From start to finish it was a blast. Along with the rest of STL, I highly recommend!” - Cian D. on Yelp

1. Salt + Smoke
(multiple locations including 6525 Delmar Blvd, University City; saltandsmokebbq.com)
“Some of the best brisket I've ever had. Decent prices and quality food. Was recommended this place by a lot of Redditors and decided to check it out while in town. The brisket was astounding. Melts in your mouth. The mac and cheese was phenomenal and I love the touch of the crackers in the dish. The cream corn was awesome as well. The cornbread muffin is a cute little addition that really brings the whole meal together. Overall, no complaints on the food at all. Service was fast and attentive and the local orange pop is to die for. Can be difficult to find parking in the area, but damn this is worth it.” - Nathan S. on Yelp
