Jessica Baran has not just been busy these past few years critiquing the St. Louis art scene in the pages of this very paper — she's also been crafting a collection of poems that parse the aesthetics of artists as diverse as Sergio Leone, Lewis Carroll and Metallica. Remains To Be Used, Baran's first poetry book, debuts tonight at 7 p.m. at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington Boulevard; 314-535-4660 or www.camstl.org). Mary Jo Bang will also read from her own poetry, and the new chapbook Late and Soon, Getting and Spending (printed by All Along Press) will make its debut as well. Admission is free.
