Caught in the Mesh

Gallery Visio kicks off the fall arts season with the eye-opening exhibit Children of the Mesh. The show shines a spotlight on the contemporary silkscreen work of underground artists who toil behind magic squeegee boards and mesh-wrapped frames to create limited-edition prints and cornea-confounding posters. Featured artists include St. Louis' own John Vogl, Jason Teegarden-Downs and Billy Baumann of Chicago's Delicious Design League, and UMSL's assistant professor of studio art, Jen McKnight. Gallery Visio, located on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-7922 or www.umsl.edu/~galvisio/), hosts an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 27. Admission is free, and the work will remain on display through Thursday, October 15.
Mondays-Thursdays. Starts: Aug. 27. Continues through Oct. 15, 2009
