The Clayton Farmers' Market (8282 Forsyth Boulevard) doesn't merely try to make you happy by offering delicious goods in an open-air setting — nope, this market strives to entertain you as well with live bands and, more important (at least today), the Iron Chef Clayton Competitions. The market folks have teamed up with L'École Culinaire this summer to pit chefs against one another in cook-off contests to determine which spatula-wielder reigns supreme. The finalists this year are Pat Jones and Jason Evans, who each beat out several formidable opponents to get to wear the chef hat today. But which one is best? Who will use the fresh market ingredients to make the most delicious dish and then go on to compete in the Taste of St. Louis competition? The stakes (or should we say "steaks") are high, and a lot is on the line. Find out how it all turns out this morning at the market — it's open from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Learn more at www.claytonfarmersmarket.com.
