Cowboy and His Horse Prove That Cherokee Street Is Still Wild

We all know that Cherokee Street is wild, but we didn’t know that it was the Wild West.

Check out this clip uploaded to Facebook over the weekend, showing an urban cowboy taking his horse out for a strut through south city.

Customers at Yaquis on Cherokee and Earthbound Brewing were thrilled when the studly cowboy and his majestic horse made their way down Iowa Avenue and across Cherokee Street over the weekend.

It was like the cover of a romance novel had come to life, with shocked onlookers swooning and voicing their approvals with calls of “wow” and “how wonderful.”

The neighborhood dogs had something to say about it, too, but their commentary on the event was decidedly less positive.

If the area in this video looks familiar, it’s because this intersection sees a lot of action. Just two months ago a bystander captured video of a St. Louis legend turning around this very corner with an entire house-load of furniture on the roof of his car.

Never change, Cherokee Street.
