Ice: Not Just for Jewelry

Well, it looks like Ms. Day is going to have to take off her high heels for one evening — and exchange them for ice skates. But this footwear switch-up isn't for some weird new exercise craze or the start of her career as a star figure skater; Ms. Day is going to learn how to play hockey during the Ladies & Left Wings clinic, a beginner course for women 21 and older. The four-hour lesson on everything from equipment (ice skates: check!) to shooting begins at 5 p.m. at the Scottrade Center (South 14th Street and Clark Avenue) and is taught by former St. Louis Blue Kelly "I'm-a-Lover-Not-a-Fighter" Chase. With the $50 clinic fee, all ladies receive the aforementioned topnotch instruction and a tour of the Blues locker room, as well as a handbook, certificate and a cosmetic bag (big enough, hopefully, for lipstick — and Super Glue for when Day breaks a nail).
