It's time to dig in

If the city of St. Louis were a Willy Wonka-style landscape, the Arch would probably be crafted out of toasted ravioli, the Mississippi would flow fast with Budweiser, the Missouri River would be Pasta House's main source for marinara, Saint Louis Bread Co. sammies would grow from trees, and crab cakes from Brandt's Café would rain down from the sky, even if it were sunny out! Unfortunately, this edible St. Louis doesn't exist — but you can find something pretty close to this reverie at the Taste of St. Louis, held at Tucker Boulevard and Market Street from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday (September 26 through 28). Yummy eats from places including Brandt's, Everest Café & Bar, Joanie's Pizzeria, Pasta House and more are served daily, concerts will rock you out, the ArtDimensions' Village brings the culture, and there are kid-centric happenings for the little ones. And as the icing on the cake, so to speak, cooking demonstrations are scheduled throughout the fest, and there's a chef competition, too! Admission is free to the Taste, and the, ah, tastes will run you anywhere from $3 to $5 on average. To learn more, visit www.tastestl.com.
