MO-MO The Football Team

We're in the football drought, at least as far as NFL games are concerned. That season doesn't start for another few months, but if you're hankerin' for some gridiron action, the Missouri Monsters are waiting for you. The Monsters are part of the Ultimate Indoor Football League, which plays by different rules that emphasize offense. The field is 50 yards long and bounded by padded walls, punting is illegal (it's either convert or go for the field goal) and teams field eight players only. Also, drop-kick field goals are worth four points. The other wrinkles you can figure out while the game's in session. Tonight the Monsters take on the Windy City Hitmen in a non-league game at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Charles Family Arena (2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles; 636-896-4200 or www.familyarena.com). Tickets are $7 to $47.
